I finished another ornament!

Good Afternoon,

Let's get right to it. I finished another xmas ornament for the LHN monthly ornament stitch a long. I had this ornament finished since Sunday. In the original design there is a border around it. I chose not to do it. I also didn't like the ribbon I had chosen to put around the ornament. Yesterday I decided to take the ribbon off and just put pins around it.

Designer: Little House Needleworks
Design: Home For The Holidays JCS xmas issue 2005
Fabric: 32 count Bone Lugana

Here is a picture of both ornaments together.

I started stitching on the quilt square for Donna's blog Stitching For A Cure. I volunteered to do two squares Lavender for General Cancer Awareness. I am hoping to finish this one sometime this weekend or next week. Keeping my fingers crossed.

That is all the updates I have at this time. Thank you for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

I have a finished Ornament!

Good Afternoon,

I finished Little House Needleworks Pine Tree Hill ornament this morning. To finish this ornament I used these instructions from this blog. I changed a few things. The directions had called for a piece of felt. I used fabric for the back of my ornament. I then added the ribbon and pins for the side of the ornament.

Designer: Little House Needleworks
Pattern: JCS Ornaments Issue October 2006
Fabric: Jazlyn 28 count Ivory
Floss: DMC 304,975,3363,3371,3865

This will be a hanging ornament. The ribbon is hidden behind the ornament because I couldn't find a good place to hang the ornament from.

My next project will be to stitch up two quilt squares for Donna on her blog Stitching for a cure. Donna will be supplying the fabric and floss for the squares. They should arrive sometime next week.

In the meantime I am seriously considering stitching up another ornament. I would like to do Little House Needleworks Home for the Holidays. It is from the JCS Ornament issue October 2005.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great weekend.

I have a new start

Hello Stitchers,

Thank you for the comments on my finish of the Daisy Sampler. Your comments meant a lot to me. Hugs to each of you.

On Friday I joined Vonna and other stitchers for the Little House Needleworks monthly Ornament Stitch-A-Long. You can find all the information here on this blog. Are you going to join us?

The first ornament pattern won't be getting to us until December. On Friday I started stitching LHN's Pine Tree Hill Ornament. This design is from the 2006 Ornament Preview issue of Just Cross Stitch.

the fabric count is 28 and I am using DMC Floss.

This is it for my stitching update. Have a wonderful day.

Keep those needles moving.

Hugs,
Carolyn

Daisy Sampler Completed

Good Afternoon everyone,

Last night I finished stitching The Daisy Sampler by Country Cottage Needleworks.

I changed the bottom of the pattern for my Mom. My Mom passed away May 31, 2009. Some of you already know this as I posted about it. I stitched this Daisy Sampler for my Mom who loved Daisy's. This was something I felt I needed to do. I miss her so much. The 31st of this month marks 5 months since she has been gone. I know she is watching over our family. I love you mom and I miss you lots. Hugs!

Stitched on 28 count green fabric using DMC thread.

Last night as I was putting in the last few stitches I was thinking about when I was a little girl. I was remembering a time when I was in first grade. We were making a plate. It was where you could draw a picture and it was transformed onto the plate. Does anyone remembering doing one of these? Anyway, I remember sitting there watching as the other students started drawing. I sat there not knowing what I wanted to draw. The Teacher had come up to and asked me a few questions and the one that stood out most was something about my Mom. I don't remember exactly what the question was but I remember I had drawn a picture of my mom. Before I show you the picture I had drawn remember I wasn't an artist and still not to this day. The plate seems to have a burn mark on it. I am not sure how it got there. Here is my drawing.

I wanted to share this memory with you. Thank you for stopping by and leaving your comments it means a lot to me. I wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween!

Hugs,
Carolyn
