I am late with my post for the October IHSW...

Hello!
Can you believe it that Halloween is just around the corner which means October is coming to an end and soon November will be here? Where does the time go? We are finally cooling down some  around here. Last week we were still in the mid 90's. I am ready for a change.

Speaking of change did you notice my blog has once again changed? I can't believe how Blogger changes things around. I was furious as one day I came on to change my background for fall and I couldn't. I was upset. There was no way I was going to learn a whole new process. Once I calmed down I decided change is good and I was going to have to learn it to stay up or get left behind. For now I am happy with what I have.

I should get you caught up with what has been going on with my health issue. It is good news. Let's begin with....

The ultrasound I had done on September 23rd  revealed I have two very small fibroids which are no concern. My uterus lining is 3cm thick which is a very good sign. My Dr. was going to preform an Endometrial Biopsy on me. However due to the LEEP procedure I had done last year has caused the opening to my cervix to be extremely small. They use a type of tool that could damage my surrounding areas.  My Dr. didn't feel comfortable with the situation so she referred me to an OB/GYN.

I couldn't get into the OB until October 6th. I still had very light bleeding when I went into see him. He asked me some questions regarding the bleeding and asked if I was sure I was in Menopause. He asked me if my Dr. had in fact gotten blood  drawn for an Follicle Stimulating Hormone(FSH). I told him she had and confirmed I was menopausal. He was going to try and perform the same test and found that he also didn't like how small my opening was. He was going to suggest surgery. Then he mentioned that I have a lot of scarring inside and was wondering if that may be the cause of the bleeding. I told him that the Dr. used forceps on my son when he was born 17 years ago. He explained because of the scarring and my body going through Menopause it causes drying and  tearing of the scars which can lead to bleeding.

He decided to put me on Medroxyprogesterone tablet to help with the bleeding and hot flashes. I am also using Estrace vaginal cream to help with the dryness. Things seems to be working as I haven't had any bleeding since the second day I started using the medication. I still get an occasional hot flash but nothing like before where it seemed like ever three hours or so. I go back into see him on October 31 to check on my progress and we will see what the next plan of action is.

I am relieved it isn't anything like I was thinking. My Aunt has assured me that she along with my Mother and their Mother all went through Menopause around the same time as me. I have the blood results that my Dr. had taken and will gladly show them to the OB/GYN at my next appointment.

I have been stitching and I will share with you what I stitched on this past weekend.

I am not sure why blogger is posting my pics in a strange way. If anyone has any suggestions please share with me. I cleaned out my cookie and cache hoping this would help. Not!

In between all the other things I have been doing such as getting out for a bike ride everyday or so, watching Jane Austen movies(I love anything Jane Austen), reading, working with pixel graphics, playing the Sims3, I have manged to get some other stitching in. I've been working on the Mary Wigham Sampler SAL from the needleprint.

That is all the updates for my stitching I have. I wanted to give you an update on our Big Maine Cat Mookie. Some time ago I mentioned that my husband tore his left bicep muscle and had surgery on it to repair it? That was the same time I had tickets for my son and I to see Kiss and Motley Crue in concert? At some point Mookie had done something to one of his back paws. He was limping around and would not let anyone near him. There was no way I was going to be able to pick him up and try by myself putting him into a cat carrier. No way! We left him alone and kept an eye on him. Slowly he got better over the last couple of months and is back to himself. The other day he was in the family room and I captured this photo of him next to the coffee table.

Is he huge or what? He is such a loving cat don't let his size fool you. It is amazing how much he has grown. Maine Coon Cats are not fully grown until they reach 5 years old. Thanks for stopping by and I wish you each a wonderful rest of the week.

Great to hear that things are better with the new meds. Not bleeding all the time is a big relief, I'm sure.
