Gifts sent and Spiritdancer update

Photobucket

Good Morning Everyone,

I will start this post with some finished stitching that I did for a couple of friends. The first finish was for Kate. This is the Christmas Ornament I stitched for her. Kate emailed and said she had gotten it and loved it.

  • Designer:Little House Needleworks
  • Fabric:30 Count Straw Linen from Weeks Dye Works
  • Floss:DMC
  • The second finish was for my dear friend Cucki.

  • Designer:The Primitive hare
  • Fabric:Belfast Summer Khaki
  • Floss:DMC
  • Buttons and Lace:The Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppee
  • Pins:The Primitive Hare
  • Cucki was very happy to be given this gift from me. It was a lot of fun stitching this up for her.

I took a few days of not stitching on the Spiritdancer as those beads are never ending.

I finished two more circles and I am now working on the chair. Hopefully I can get to the bottom of the skirt adding the beads during this weekend's IHSW. This is the last weekend of this year to get that stitching in. Joyce is thinking about having it again for next year. Get over there and post letting her know that YES we want to continue the IHSW in 2013!

Recently I was going through some of my WIP's stitching basket and you know what I found I had started in 2005? Back in 2005 there was a SAL for The Alter Echo Sampler. The last few evenings I have started back to stitching on this again.

This will be on my list for 2013 along with the Mary Wigham Sampler. I'm sensing it might be a Sampler stitching year for me in 2013. Have you heard about a SAL that Nicola is putting on? It is Nicola's Scarlett Letter Year. The participants will be stitching a reproduction sampler by The Scarlett Letter. The sign up on the blog is full but you can still participate and Nicola will post your progress pictures. For more information head on over to the blog. I ordered a pattern from The Scarlett Letter and hope to be starting in 2013. First I really want to get the Spiritdancer completed. The reproduction sampler pattern I have chosen to stitch is by Abigail Bragdon 1832. This is the one for me. I love it as it has to do with history and she comes from Maine. It will be a fun one to work on. There are over 300 reproduction samplers to choose from and they have all ranges of easy to hardest. I can't wait to get a start on mine.

That is all the updates I have today. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful stitching week!

    Hugs, Carolyn

Cute gift finishes, Carolyn. Sounds like you've got your line up for 2013 ready! I'm hoping to finish Sampler aux Bouquets and maybe JG. You just keep plugging away at those beads... soon you'll be finished. :)
